Guitar prices vary widely, but in general electric guitars do not cost any more or less than comparable quality acoustics. The thing to consider when buying an electric guitar is that you will also need an amplifier. Guitar prices can range anywhere from a couple hundred dollars to a few thousand dollars. Although many things can factor into the price of a guitar, it is mainly affected by the quality of wood and parts it is made out of, as well as the level of craftsmanship that went into building it. The quality of the Fender Squier series was so high that they can be used by novices and professionals alike. Fender just up’d the prices on many of their models. Theres another thread on TGP about it that I’m too lazy to look up but I think the most likely explination I read was that less people are buying guitars with the poor economic situation and Fender has to make more money off of the fewer people who are still buying. There are various other factors which can also influence guitar prices. This fact can be found in the guise of different guitars stores. Set up the brand preference Like any other merchandises, guitar price and quality differs according to their brands. Famous brand will cost you more but it provide you with better quality. In one brand, there may be a wide range to choose. I would suggest that you select the one at the low-end price of a well-known brand. The brand can somewhat confirm the quality and the price will be still under your budget. 4. Know how to screen out the bad ones You may need to bring along someone who know guitar well when you go to the shop. He can help you by playing the guitar you choose and listen to the quality of sound. If you have no body, ask the store owner or seller to show you by playing at them. You can compare the quality of the sound by listening to his performance. Look at the frets, the cords, the board and the structure of the guitar if they are all OK.
